19:00 – 21:00
WhereOnline Video Stream
Can we accelerate progress towards the 2030 Agenda post-COVID19? 2020 was designated as the year to usher in the “Decade of Action” - a decade of ambition to deliver the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by 2030 and accelerate sustainable solutions to all the world’s biggest challenges. Since being adopted in 2015, progress on the SDGs has been slow. And little did we know, that the most important action most of us could take for the first few months of this decade, was to stay home because of COVID19. But the UN’s SDGs can be the framework to design a sustainable, just and responsible post-COVID recovery. Join 2030 Cabinet’s Nadim Choucair to learn more about the SDGs and how you can align your business to them or use them as a starting point for a new product, service, or venture. This workshop is part of the “Road to the Global Goals Jam” event series leading to the Global Goals Jam event happening in September 2020. Find out more about the Global Goals Jam. The Zoom link will be sent to you via email 1 hour before the event. Maximum capacity of 16 individuals. Stay tuned from more workshops through 2030 Academy. 20:00 Creating LGBTQIA+ Inclusive W... @ Online Video StreamCreating LGBTQIA+ Inclusive Work EnvironmentsWhenJul 14th 2020

Factory Berlin’s Solopreneurs Circle is inviting you to our summer edition event to learn about building a personal brand and to socialise. As a sole proprietor, you are your company, and you also are your brand. Jeff Bezos, the founder of Amazon, is famously quoted as saying, “Your brand is what people say about you when you’re not in the room.” The question is, do you want to allow your reputation to take on a life of its own or control the narrative? Creating a personal brand can be a daunting, mythical task. And one of the easiest ways to get lost in the process is to not know where to start. Join us on Wednesday, July 15th, from 5 pm at the back terrace, ground floor, of our Mitte location to learn how to create your personal brand that works for you. Afterwards, enjoy the evening with some drinks and snacks. Following the government’s guidelines for Factory Berlin events, we will only be able to host 15 people at the same time. How can we cater to humanity’s energy needs while meeting global climate targets? As part of the Energy Week program on the Road to the Global Goals Jam 2020 Factory Berlin is proud to host a keynote and discussion panel on the crucial topic of “The Future of Energy”. Solutions for saving and generating energy in a sustainable fashion are absolutely critical for solving the global climate crisis, to foster dignified life on planet earth, and to positively evolve as a global society. The energy debate has landed in the public mainstream and politics sends signals through “The New Green Deal” for Europe and green economic stimulus packages in face of the Covid-19 pandemic. Many green energy innovations have been found already which are being implemented across the world. And with the acceleration of green energy research and entrepreneurship, many solutions will still be invented and deployed in the years to come. We are glad to welcome a diverse group of speakers representing different angles of the energy debate: Philippe Singer - Managing Director & Co-Founder, Leaders for Climate Action Gerke Gersema - VP Operations, Thermondo Ella von der Put - Project Engineer, Enapter Toby Couture - Founder and Director, E3 Analytics The talks and discussion panel will be followed by an interactive Q&A with the audience. Who is it for? Absolutely everyone who is interested in the energy debate and how this relates to the climate crisis, social justice and a pro-evolutionary way forward. Why Attend?
Please note, only members of Factory Berlin can attend the event in person. Non-members will be able to access the event via a Youtube live stream on Factory Berlin TV. The link will be sent to you via email, 1h before the event starts. |

Welcome to the Developers Circle event with Factory Berlin member Linda Grönlund. Hiring a software developer agency for your MVP can be hard, especially as you want to find the best possible match for your particular project. There is a lot to think about, that nobody talks about. Many founders seem to go the trial-and-error route until the find the developers that they feel comfortable with. But before you reach that spot, it can be costly. This talk will cover a founder’s personal story when hiring software developer agencies, 10 concrete points to think about before taking this step, and 6 points that are good to have in the back of your head when writing the contract. These points are taken straight from Linda’s own experiences and is therefore not accordingly to the standard schoolbook style. The topic is suitable for any non-tech founder who’s in the process of building a digital product and hence hiring external software developers. Only Factory Berlin Members can physically attend the event. The event will be streamed for non-members. We will send the link 1h before the event starts. 17:00 CheckOut Drinks: July #4 @ Factory Berlin Görlitzer ParkCheckOut Drinks: July #4WhenJul 24th 2020

Building a company is hard but building a company as a female founder is harder. Why? In Germany, women founders only make up 15.7% of the startup ecosystem and have to surmount considerable hurdles. These include gender bias in financing from investors and VCs, lower valuations and smaller investments, as well as exclusion from important networks that would help them grow and scale quicker. All of this despite study upon study showing that diverse teams are more productive and are more profitable. Is it that women are reluctant to found a startup? Are women still socialised differently? Or are the obstacles at times insurmountable? This panel looks at the importance of diversity and representation in entrepreneurship and how more women can be enticed to think of starting their own businesses. About Entrepreneur First Entrepreneur First is the world's largest talent investor. We bring extraordinary individuals together to meet co-founders, create companies, and get funding. We have helped 1000+ founders build 150+ companies, with a combined valuation of over $2 billion. Our major exits to date include Magic Pony, led by Rob Bishop and Zehan Wang, which was acquired by Twitter for a reported $150m only 18 months after the Founders met on the EF programme. EF is backed by Reid Hoffman (founder of LinkedIn), Greylock Partners, Mosaic Ventures, Founders Fund, Lakestar Capital, and DeepMind founders Demis Hassabis and Mustafa Suleyman. |
