Factory Berlin x Sónar+D’s Artist in Residence program is supported by Beats by Dr. Dre.
The Residency supports artists exploring new lines of inquiry intersecting technology & society. We aim to discover, explore and showcase how creativity impacts innovation, problem-solving, work culture, how we collaborate, and how we come together as a community.
In December Ania Catherine & Dejha Ti kicked off our By Appointment Only series of COVID-19 safe art exhibitions.

During their time on the residency artists collaborate, and craft installations and exhibitions, such as our By Appointment Only series. They perform, create, and exchange with the wider Factory Berlin community.
Community changes the way we work.
The aim of the program is to facilitate dialog, partnership, and collaboration at the intersection of technology and exploratory arts. By focusing on this synthesis, the program empowers artists to create work which inspires shifts in perspective and cross-collaboration.

About the residency
6 artists are invited to spend 4-months inside our Creators Lab, at Factory Görlitzer Park. During their stay, artists receive a free 1-year Native Membership to both Factory Berlin campuses, project production support, press & media leads, and mentorship from a global network of experts and industry names. The selection process will be determined by a panel of local & global leaders in various industries from music, business, art, science, technology or social impact. In addition artists will be introduced to new and diverse communities in which they can explore new ideas with. At the end of the residency, a few artists will be selected into the official Sónar+D 2021 program in Barcelona.
What the residency does:
We bring together some of the brightest minds from different cultures and work processes, encouraging established creatives from different genres in Creative-Tech or business to challenge tradition through unconventional environments. We welcome artists, scientists, researchers, professors, musicians, developers, and startups. Art creates a bridge between people and society and offers critical thinking. Together we will meet, learn, exchange, brainstorm and cross-collaborate.
