Electronic Cinema: Sisters with Transistors
When
Where
We are very excited to invite you to Beatport's private Electronic Cinema screening on Tuesday, April 26th.
This is the first screening in over two years, and we would love to welcome you. Lisa Rovner's documentary Sisters with Transistors will be shown at Factory Berlin's state-of-the-art cinema.
The film tells the remarkable untold story of electronic music's female pioneers — composers who embraced machines and their liberating technologies to utterly transform how we produce and listen to music today. It maps a new history of electronic music through the visionary women whose radical experimentations with machines redefined the boundaries of music, including Daphne Oram, Pauline Oliveros, Delia Derbyshire, Eliane Radigue, Suzanne Ciani, and Laurie Spiegel.
Sisters with Transistors is more than just the history of a music genre: it explores how we hear and the critical but unsung role female pioneers play in that story. We hope you join us in this thought-provoking and informative cinematic experience! And be sure to stick around after the film to grab a drink 🍻
